Usually the park was full of all sorts. Teenagers who had managed to score alcohol, people who came to wallow in their depression whilst on the chipped swing set, couples, you know the type. But not tonight. To Evelyn's surprise and destain, it was deserted. Not even one person. It was roughly 7pm and, because Winter was coming, the sky was already a deep dark blue. Evelyn wore a pink, black and white hoodie as well as a pink frilled skirt, teamed with black tights and black slouch boots.
Evelyn sat on the middle swing of three, and moved back and forth half-heartedly. The hostel was boring her, the town was boring her, she needed some salvation from boredom. Quick. A light breeze brushed Evelyn's whispy pink extensions from her shoulders and she let go of the rusty swing to pull her hood up.

Lonliness was one of the worst feelings Trigger had ever experienced. He'd experienced it when his mom had died, when the father he'd never known had died, and now in the place he went to escape everything. It wasn't fair that he felt this way. He didn't like this at all, he wanted everything to back to the way it was when he was four, before he cared about anything, before his mom met Geoff, when his dad was still alive...
Trigger's hands were buried deep into his pockets and he was trailing his feet along the ground as he trudged along the path that cut through the park. His hair was styled in front of his face, a silver lip ring glistened on the left of his lip and he was chewing the right side. He was wearing a pair of scruffy jeans and a Motley Crue t-shirt with a grey zip up top and a messenger bag slung diagonally across his chest.
His eyes were glued on the ground a few feet in front of him and eventually he decided to look up. He saw a girl with the most amazing hair he'd ever seen and he quickly made a turn to the swings. He was built up on the need to compliment her, but as he got closer his confidences seeped away slightly. What if she called him names? Trigger shook this thought from his mind and sat down on the swing next to her. "I really love your hair." He said with a smile.

Every-so-often, Evelyn's mind would wander somewhere and her hand would slip off the swing rails. She thought about her past, and the things she'd left behind. She thought about life, religion, all sorts of things. She was the kind of girl who was a vivid daydreamer. She'd slip away in class, only to be awoken from some beautiful thought by a vicious teacher's shrill voice to her ears.
Evelyn noticed a boy enter the park. He had seemed to come from nowhere to her as she had been looking up at the dark velvet sky, her mind elsewhere. She studied him, but looked away in fear that their eyes would lock and she would look very curious, staring at someone she didn't even know the name of. She wanted to say something, even it was just a 'hello' into the distance, but she felt herself too shy to do the smallest thing.
She felt surprised when the boy came over and complimented her hair. Her eyes met his as she giggled a 'thanks' nervously, twirling a strand of pink around her finger absentmindedly. I'm Evelyn, she smiled, surprised by her own actions and forwardness. She always felt nervous around boys. Growing up with 3 sisters in a same-sex school could do this to a girl. I like Motley Crue too, she added, referencing his shirt. Woah, did that sound lame?

Trigger could amost feel the girls nervousness radiating from her. He smiled at her comfortingly and tried to make it clear that he wasn't intimdating in any way. She introduced herself and he nodded in silent recognition as he mentally noted her name. "I'm Trigger." He replied simply watching her twirl her hair around her fingers. He couldn't help but grin, she seemed postively terrified and it amused him.
Trigger flicked his hair out of his face slightly, only for it to fall back into his eyes - but he wasn't really expecting any different. He pushed his swing back slightly and allowed himself to swing backwards and forwards. He caught her complimenting his t-shirt and he stopped his swing, realising he was being rude. "You do? That's cool. As I'm sure you can tell I love them." Trigger grinned as he spoke. "I'm going to see them in concert. Before I die I mean." He laughed slightly and opened his mouth as if he was going to say something else but then he closed it, changing his mind.

After the teenagers had exchanged names, Evelyn found she had begun to calm. She now felt more comfortable in Trigger's presence. This was rare to her, since she normally needed more than a day to trust a person and she had only known Trigger for less than five minutes. She even found herself asking him a personal question. Trigger...is that a nickname or your real name? she asked, curiously. Not nosily, curiously. There was a difference.
Well, they both liked Motley Crue. That was a start in the whole big thing that was friendship. Ugh, I'd love to go see them, she replied. Although it was not to thing she wanted to do before she died. She wanted to make it out of Callabral - badly. She stopped twirling her hair to grip the swing rail. The pink little curl sprang up and down excitedly.

Triggers hands ran through his dark hair and his eyes were fixed on his shoes. He listened to her question patiently and tried to decide on what to say. He'd love to lie and say his parents had been gun fanatics so yes it was his real name but he decided that was no way to begin a friendship. He genuinely liked this girl and that was new for him. "Nickname. I'm really called Timothy. But my surname is Shotner and my friends connected shot to a gun, so I got named Trigger. Also because of my temper that I had back then. It stuck." He shrugged.
Trigger smiled slightly and slapped his knees with his hands, then he looked over at Evelyn again and grinned. "Cool, if they're ever near by we should go together." He informed her. Then the smile faltered slightly and he pulled down the sleeves of his zip up. He looked over at her again, "Have you ever been looking forward to something so much that it just doesn't seem good when you get it?" Trigger asked her in a melancholy trone, he was talking about being here in Callabral...

Evelyn shrugged, but she smiled in responce to Trigger's reply. I get Lynnie so..uh, not very original at all. Trigger is awesome. I like it. Evelyn surprised herself. She was talking as if she had known Trigger for months, years... Or at least she thought she was.
She doubted Motley Crue would come to Callabral. She doubted Callabral even had a suitable area for such an outrageously big band to play at. Though she could always hope. Evelyn was a pessimist by nature, she always expected the bad things to happen. She always saw the glass as half empty. She only saw life as one big line with some events thrown in. That didn't mean that she didn't want in for the ride. She had been thinking so deeply she was sure minutes had gone by in silence but it must have been only awkward seconds in reality.
Are you asking me that or yourself? Evelyn asked Trigger, rather flatly. She had the feeling he was just asking himself the same question but out loud. She wondered what he was referring to. She hated questions that required her to think. It often made her waffle on and bore the questioner. Her chocolatey brown eyes looked at Trigger. Totally, she replied, keeping her answer short. She would add to it later.

Trigger smiled at Evelyn and stroked an imaginary beard thoughtfully. He sat up straighter and clapped his hands together excitedly. "I could call you Evie!" He smiled at her, "Only if you want me too..." he added dejectedly, preparing himself for the dismissal of this pet name. He was used to this, coming up with an idea only for it to be shot down seconds later. He smiled at her though, he genuinely liked her and he could see them becoming good friends.
Trigger smiled at the fact she checked whether his question was rhetorical or not. He stroked his left hand with the tips of his right fingers before pulling down his sleeves slightly and glanced at her, "Both of us." he replied with another glance at her. "I was really looking forward to having somewhere to live, i.e. here, but I feel really alone...." he trailed of slightly, he was whining, WHY did he ALWAYS whine? It was irritating even to him...

Evelyn smiled at Trigger's creativeness. Okay then, Trigg, you can address me as Evie. That is your honour, she said as if it was something of great importance. But it was important to Evelyn. This boy had not yet walked off during her talking, bored of her rants. And that was special. She wondered whereabouts he lived. Callabral, obviously, he just explained that, but if he lived with his parents, on his own... Evelyn liked knowing small details like that.
Evelyn wanted to say something when he explained that he felt lonely. Something trite and clichéd like You're not alone, you have me but she thought it too soon in their relationship to say something as...lame as that. So she just smiled in what she hoped was a reassuring fashion. He seemed independent, quite like Evelyn herself.

Trigger grinned at her agreeing to his idea for her nickname, he really loved the fact she hadn't tossed it aside the way so many people did with his ideas. It was things like that, that really hurt him. The little rejections that seem insignificant are the ones the chipped away at his self confidence. He was a very insecure person. "Evie." he smiled. He wasn't really sure why he was saying her name but he didn't understand a lot of things that he said. "You're my best friend." he suddenly blurted out.
Trigger was screaming at himself on the inside. Why did I say that? What is wrong with me? She is going to think I'm a freak!! his brain was screaming at him. He couldn't help but absent mindedly kick himself in the leg. He was extremely annoyed right now. He pulled down the sleeves of his grey zip up and looked in Evelyn's direction, hoping her reaction wouldn't be one of disturbed symptoms or something like that. He chewed his bottom lip and laced his fingers together.

Evelyn smiled. It was one of those big, toothy grins that her mouth rarely formed and therefore was not sure of the concept. It actually hurt quite a lot, being so wide. It was like her mouth had formed so many scowls in the past months that she'd forgotten how to smile.
Oh, Trigg! I pretty much love you! she said, her voice bouncy. We can be best friends.. sidekicks, partners, whatever, she added. She had only known this boy for less than an hour and she was already smiling with him. How must have been special.
Evelyn put her hood up so that only two strands of light pink crept out and her long fringe was still visible. It was getting cold. She rubbed her hands together. OOC; short. pleh!

Trigger beamed at her, he hadn't felt so happy in months, it was an uplifiting feeling, to feel loved and appreciated. He really adored Evie. She really was his best friend and he had the feeling she would be one of the best friends he would ever have. He wanted to hug her but maybe it was a bit too soon for that. And maybe it would suggest other intentions. Trigger didn't want to spoil what they had with thoughts like that. "That's the best thing I've heard all month." Trigger grinned and began to swing back and forth.

Evelyn swang back in forth in copycat motion with Trigger. She slowed down before smiling at Trigger. She liked making other people happy - it made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside. So.. do you live around here? she asked, her voice laced with interest. She then frowned at herself, immediately thinking how much of a stupid question that was. Hadn't he already said he lived here? Had he not? Ah, now I'm just confusing myself, thought Evelyn, leaning back on the swing, clutching to the rails.

Trigger grinned as she copied him and he swung higher and higher. He loved the swings, they reminded him of being care-free and innocent, when it was just him and his mom and everything was good and pure. Trigger saw her slow and began to slow down himself, he wanted to talk to her. She was, afterall, his best friend. "I live at the youth hostel." he said with a very mild blush appearing across his cheeks, maybe she was a local and she'd think he was trash. But he was willing to take that chance to tell the truth. "What about you?" he smiled at her and rocked his swing back and forth.

Evelyn stopped swinging completely. Okay, it wasn't that much a big shock when you think about it in full. Callabral was a moderately small town, but it had lots of teenagers. Troubled ones, normally. Evelyn squealed excitedly, clapping her hands together, not particularly caring if Trigger thought her curious. Iliveintheyouthhosteltoo! she said, far too quickly. She then consoled herself and said more slowly, We're like...housemates, she grinned eagerly to cover her lame statement. She pulled her hoodie sleeves down in order to warm her cold, pink nail-polished hands
OOC; low muse like moi?
