Elyse pushed open the door of g1 to see and empty room and a couple of beds. She walked primly over to the farthest one, beside a big window and set her case beside the empty cabinet at the bedside. She was wearing the same clothes that she had left home in, a pair of black peep toe stilettos, a washed out pair of thick jeans and a long green cardigan. She lay on the bed and stared at the metal ceiling. The man in the office, she couldn't remember his name, had told her she was sharing this space with another girl.....Elyse hoped to God that she was nice.

Evelyn hopped up the wooden, chipped stairs groggily, attempting to climb whilst avoiding painful blisters in her bare feet. She had just woken up from a quick nap from one of the old battered sofas downstairs by a group of girls who had decided to retreat to the living room to gossip loudly about 'the new girl'. A new girl? This was interesting. Evelyn hadn't been told a thing about a new girl. So, she hurried upstairs to investigate.
She didn't knock on the door of g1. Why would she really need to? It was her dorm. It had just been her for a while which, as much as Evelyn would hate to admit it, was pretty lonely. Being in a dorm on her own for over 4 months, it was a pretty strange sight to see a girl lying on the farthest bed. It was almost like seeing a ghost of some sort. Evelyn's face turned into a mix of expression between puzzled and confused. The new girl had not seemed to notice the pink-haired girl gawping at her which was probably a good thing. Evelyn blinked and appeared from behind the door. She sat on her bed, a shabby old thing with light pink covers. Hi.

She was just wondering how much money she had left in her purse, and was thinking of counting it again out of boredom when she heard a muffled sound and a voice fro the other side of the room. She sprung up from the enveloping sheets and eyed the girl up and down pleasantly. In comparison to this beautiful, colorful flower of a girl, Elyse felt like an under dressed, homeless snail. She didn't know why, but this made her even happier that she left her father behind. "Hi. I'm Elyse." she smiled back, and in a wider grin added, "And don't worry, I didn't poison my parents and perform satanic rituals with their bones..." She had heard what those girls downstairs had said about her, and didn't want her first acquaintance to think she was some sort of religious rapist.
She picked up her sketch pad and flipped through till she found the drawing she was currently working on before looking back to the girl. " Sorry, I'm not being rude or anything, I just have draw when I feel inspired." she smiled, thinking back to the years in hospital when drawing was her only escape from the gruelling pain inside her.

Evelyn lifted her legs up onto the bed, crossed them and rested her head. She smiled. At least her room mate had a good sense of humour... and didn't perform satanic rituals. That's reassuring. And, I, am not a cannibal. Nor do I perform cross burning exercises out in the garden. We'll get along fine and dandy. Evelyn wore a purple vintage-look Motley Crue too-big-for-a-small-frame-but-looks-totally-awesome shirt and a short black skirt. On her legs she wore simple black tights and her feet were bare.
Evelyn picked at her tights as if there was something immensely interested inbedded in them. Sucking her lip a little, she got up and walked over intently towards her newly-acquainted roommate. If I may ask, what are you drawing, sketching or whatever you artists call it? Evelyn was never that 'into' art and didn't know the proper terms. But she was quite forward in asking people questions that they may not want to reveal. Oh, yeah, I'm Evelyn by the way. You may call you Lynnie if you wish, Evelyn said royally as if she was bestowing some big advantage towards Elyse.

OOC;; How i do wish spellcheck would stop giving me the american spelling for everything. BAD FENG SHUI.
Elyse flipped the pad round to show Evelyn. It was a leaning, stitched up sort of mannequin surrounded by barbed wire and thorny stems before she had started to edit it, but now the thorns were encrusted with large, blooming flowers, glittery dust was falling in little spirals around the figure who was beginning to take on the same sort of form as her new room mate.
Elyse gave a twitchy sort of shy smile before picking up a pack of Hungarian abysnth flavoured gum, devouring one of the minty green coloured strips and offering Evelyn one. " Good for your brian..." she nodded in a mouth-full smile.

OOC; I would like to throw a wooden chair at spellcheck. We spell our colours with a u, thank you!
Evelyn's eyes followed around the artwork. Preeeetty, came her mindless responce. Not being an avid artist herself, she often didn't know what to say. She couldn't come up with an intelligent answer - Simply divine, the pencil lines are magnificent! - so she hoped a simple compliment would suffice. But she really did think Elyse's drawing was pretty. Dark, but pretty.
Thanks, Evelyn said politely when offered some gum. Exotic, much? She sat on the unoccupied bed opposite Elyse, looking out through the small window at the foot of the bed.

"My Gran was Hungarian....." she nodded, squirming slightly as the strong gum burnt her lips. A few seconds after she said it, a devastating feeling punched her in the stomach. She forgot for a while that she was talking to a new found friend, and that she was in a safe haven for people like her and remembered that her father was probably drowning in his own alcohol induced vomit and that she would never see her mother again. " Nyeuughh!" she squealed in a long, strained tone and crashed into Evelyn's arms, sobbing.
OOC;; LMAO, when i typed in Nyeuughh, it suggested that i meant to spell Roughouses.....NOO!

OOC; Oh, how spellcheck irritates me! It even corrected 'speckcheck' to 'spell check'. FSDFEDFWF.
Before Evelyn could even nod in sympathy, or sadness, or whatever feeling she had planned on emitting, Elyse launched into Evelyn's arms, tears streaming. Hmm, Evelyn had not planned an reaction for this. She mouthed a small 'okaaaay' as she patted the older girl's back slightly. Evelyn had never been good with small children, never mind 18 year olds. She scanned the room, trying to gain inspiration from the smallest thing. Finding nothing in the bare, lilac room, she simply asked, Are you okay? Evelyn mentally slapping herself a few seconds after she asked the dull question. Of course she wasn't okay...

After making a few queer muffled noises from the depths of Evelyn's t shirt, Elyse came up for air, padding her eyes with her sweater and sniffing every few seconds. "I'm sorry..." she trembled, hoping that Evelyn got the point of why she was crying.
"Listen...Do you wanna go somewhere?" she added, in a stronger, more positive tone. She had walked all the way through the town before she got to the hostel and had spotted a few dainty cafes and kitsch little time-wasters that would take her mind off what she was doing, at least for the time being.

Evelyn smiled kindly, something she didn't do often. She paused when Elyse asked her if she would like to go somewhere. Hey, she'd only known this girl for 5 minutes but why not? Sure, got anywhere to go? Evelyn hoped Elyse would know this town a little better than she. Although she had been in this hostel for more than 6 months, she was still only an acquaintance to the town and its residents.
OOC; short but sweet :]

It isn't too dark outside.. she pondered. Wanna go to the lake? she said, as if she was in a hurry to leave. She picked up her bag and another coat and stood up from the bed. She wondered if she creeped Evelyn out..She was two years older than the girl, just burst into tears in front of her and just asked her if she wanted to go to the lake. A secluded place where no one will hear you scream. Some first impression. Pfft.
ooc; Short, but what was i supposed to do! lol
